MANILA – Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and his running mate Sara Duterte toured the towns of Quezon on Wednesday, wooing voters with a promise of a "united" government should they win the May 2022 polls.
Together with the rest of the UniTeam, the tandem combed the towns of Candelaria and Tiaong, with Lucena City as the venue of their grand rally.
In his speech, Marcos reiterated the need for Filipinos to join forces and unite to address what he described as the numerous problems the country is facing right now.
"(Kung mananalo ako) hindi lang po kaming mga kandidato ang mananalo kundi ang sambayanang Pilipino (If I win, it's not only us candidates who will win but the entire Filipino nation)," he said.
Marcos said among his plans is to strengthen the agriculture sector and ensure the country's food security. Apart from boosting agriculture, Marcos said he would also focus on the recovery of the tourism industry.
On Tuesday, Marcos and Duterte visited Cavite, one of the top vote-rich provinces, drawing nearly 100,000 supporters who trooped at the General Trias Oval.
Marcos is very grateful and thankful for the massive crowd who welcomed the UniTeam.
“Ako ay nagulat. Mula pagpasok ko dito hindi ko akalain na ganito tayo karami (I was shocked. From the entrance, I never expected we have this huge crowd),” Marcos said.
The show of force was not only seen during the grand rally, as very early in the morning, supporters started trooping to the covered court of Barangay San Juan in Dasmarinas where resounding cheers of support welcomed Marcos and Duterte when they arrived for the first event of the UniTeam’s campaign sortie.
