MANILA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday advised motorists to take alternate routes at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex in Manila as it will implement one-way traffic in the area beginning Friday (Oct. 1), until October 8, 2021.
In a traffic advisory, the MMDA said one-way traffic will be implemented on A. Dela Rama (V. Sotto to Buendia), Buendia (A. Dela Rama to Jalandoni), and Jalandoni (Buendia to V. Sotto) from October 1 until October 8.
“The MMDA will implement a one-way traffic scheme at the CCP Complex starting 5 a.m. on Friday, October 1 until October 8, for the filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) and certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) in connection with the May 9, 2022 elections,” the MMDA said.
Earlier, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) set the filing of COC for the May 2022 polls and required “aspirants for any elective office or their authorized representatives” to be escorted by a maximum of two persons and subject to minimum health standards.
Persons filing for candidacy are also required to take an antigen test or RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test with a negative result within the last 24 hours prior to the filing of their COC or CONA. (PNA)
