MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has processed nearly 3 million voter registration applications for this year’s Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
As of March 7, applications processed nationwide reached 2,875,807. Of these, 1,499,398 applicants are female and 1,376,409 are male, the Comelec said Tuesday.
CALABARZON recorded the highest number of applications with 501,212, followed by Central Luzon with 333,038 and the National Capital Region with 298,906.
Regions with fewer than 100,000 applications include MIMAROPA (91,653), CARAGA (85,238), Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (51,030), and the Cordillera Administrative Region (38,891).
Voter registration resumed on Oct. 20, 2025 and will run until May 18, 2026. The BSKE is set for Nov. 2, 2026. (PNA)
