Comelec taps DFA, DMW, CFO as registration hubs for overseas voters

MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is working with other government agencies that will serve as registration centers for overseas voters in connection with the May 2028 elections.

The poll body's Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) made the announcement in separate social media posts, tapping the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) - Office of Consular Affairs (OCA), and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) as Local Field Registration Centers (LFRCs).

"Clients with transactions there can also register as overseas voters at the Local Field Registration Centers," it said on Tuesday.

"Register now and make your voice heard during the elections. Ensure your right to vote even when you are abroad," added the Comelec-OFOV.

The LFRCs are located at the following sites:

-- DFA-OCA-ASEANA Business Park in Parañaque City, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

-- CFO-Nexgen Tower, EDSA Extension, Pasay City, Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

-- DMW-Blas F. Ople Building in Mandaluyong City, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applicants may register as overseas voters to be able to vote in the 2028 polls, update their address or other personal details on their overseas voter record; reactivate overseas voter registration record; and verify their overseas voter registration status.

They are also asked to bring any of the following: Philippine passport, Seafarer's Record Book (for seafarers), or Certified Copy of Approval of Retention or Reacquisition of Philippine Citizenship (for dual citizens).

The overseas voter registration period started on Dec. 1, 2025 and will run until Sept. 30, 2027. (PNA)
