MANILA – The applications for voter registration processed in connection with the holding of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in November have breached the 2 million mark.
Based on figures released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), as of Feb. 15, the running total of applications received nationwide is now at 2,135,181. Of the number, majority are female applicants with 1,121,112 while male applicants are 1,014,069.
The recorded applications received is at 1,554,253, including applications as new registrants totaling to 556,283, aged 18 years old and above.
Applications for new registrants in the youth polls were at 580,928, aged 15 to 17 years old.
The voter registration period resumed on Oct. 20, 2025 and will run until May 18, 2026.
The village and youth elections is set Nov. 2, 2026. (PNA)
