Sara quashes Domagoso-Duterte hype

MANILA – Vice-presidential candidate Sara Duterte has reiterated her loyalty to running mate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and rejected pairing schemes with a rival candidate.

In a Facebook post while on break during the UniTeam’s Negros Occidental campaign sortie on Wednesday, Duterte said they are united, along with the entire senatorial slate.

“Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte will always be one team,” the Davao City mayor posted. “We stand undivided and shall remain strong despite the proclamation of other tandems that single out either Marcos or Duterte as a candidate.”

Recently, there have been sightings of Isko Moreno-Sara Duterte posters.

The Manila mayor also said he is backing his vice-presidential partner, Dr. Willie Ong.

The UniTeam remains the duo to beat as consistently shown by all the national surveys, according to Duterte.

“Our good showing in the surveys, however, would not lull us into complacency. Instead, we will be relentless in our efforts to reach more and more Filipinos in the coming days with the message of unity that we believe is of utmost importance to achieve what we have been dreaming for the Filipinos and our great country,” she added.

Meanwhile, Misamis Occidental Governor Philip Tan on Friday vowed to support Duterte’s bid.

“We are 100 percent supporting Mayor Sara,” Tan said after he and some officials from his province met with Duterte in Dipolog City.

Tan said that he appreciates the mayor’s character from a colleague’s perspective.

“We are old friends. We were colleagues at the League of City Mayors. Buotan si Mayor Sara. Masaligan, matinud-anon and down-to-earth. Angay nato siyang botohan ug suportahan (Mayor Sara is kind, dependable, and down-to-earth. We should vote for her),” he added. (PR)
